Colin DeVaughan is an artist in financial professional's clothing. Born in 1973 in Anniston, Alabama, Colin first learned music, and then English. Just ask his mother. Throughout childhood and many moves with his family to various Army bases where his father was stationed, Colin would mimic songs he heard on the piano, or create and harmonize with melodies of his own.
After secondary schooling, he attended Cornell College, where a lifelong friend introduced him to the musical theatre of Sondheim. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in German, and took a year off before graduate school. This break is now in its 18th year, during which he had a 15-year career with Caesars Entertainment, in jobs ranging from craps dealer to corporate executive in charge of performance optimization for 65,000 employees.
Colin is now a professional artist full-time. He lives in Saint Louis, runs in Tower Grove Park, and enjoys reading armloads of books, watching TED talks, and cheering the Saint Louis Blues to victory.
The image to the right, if assembled, would assuredly be bigger than the room you're reading this in. Unless you're outside. Then maybe.
